Blackjacks have been in an uproar after the appearance of La Materialista’s Chipi Cha Cha single. The song has the same musical composition as 2NE1’s I Am The Best and had many fans upset. Not long after the plagiarism accusations surfaced, the Dominican Republic singer responded, stating that it was only a cover.
Since then, the music video for Chipi Cha Cha has been taken down by YG Entertainment, due to copyright claims. Even with the video being removed, La Materialista is still promoting the single, providing a different link to the song’s free download through her Twitter account.
According to her active Twitter, she will be talking more about the plagiarism accusations on Arte & Medio today. Stay tuned for more developments on this case.
