How to look natural with colored lenses

Colored lens are a prime beauty item in the Korean music industry when it comes to producing a certain image. Using the right color with specific makeup will give off different impressions. Allure Korea has provided a collage featuring six female idols who wear colored lens regularly, or who have previously worn colored lens for photo shoots.

The first female to be featured is Girls’ Generation‘s Jessica. Allure reveals that brown lenses and smoky makeup gives Jessica a natural and sophisticated image. A second image displays 2NE1‘s Park Bom wearing light-gray lenses matched with dark smoky makeup, which presents a sexy transformation. The third image reveals Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany with the combination of misty black circle lenses and rich red-brown hair which give her with the features of a doll.

Next, 4Minute‘s HyunA wears light-brown lenses and hot-pink lip makeup to highlight her intended sexy image. Following HyunA is yet another Girls’ Generation member. Yoona dons a pair of khaki lenses, which works well with her natural brown hair to create a nice and friendly image. Last but not least, f(x) member Krystal is seen with blue lenses and pale skin, creating a mysterious mystical atmosphere.

The key to looking natural requires attention on the relationships between colored lens and make-up and between make-up and hairstyle. Allure Korea provides four examples of matching colored lens with the right makeup.

In the first image, model Park Seul Ki is seen wearing Nars Eggplant Gaiety Blush, brown Acuvue lenses, and Yves Saint Laurent Rogue Volupté Shine. Brown eyes go best with natural makeup. Brown eyebrow makeup fills in the empty spaces of the eyebrow, nude-tone eyeshadow makeup gradually lightens towards the eyebrow, and black liquid eyeliner with mascara and curled eyelashes accentuate the eyes. Finish the look by adding purple or pink blush and pale pink lip makeup.

Next, Park wears blue one-day FreshLook contact lenses, Mac Full of Joy powder blush, and Innisfree Creamy Tint Lipstick #11 Summer Orange. Blue eyes work well with chic makeup. Use pearlescent beige eyeshadow under the eyebrows and eyes and fill in the eyes with a brown eyeliner pencil. Apply mascara on lashes and below and carefully dab a brush on light purple blush and roll the brush several times on the cheeks. Then apply the orange lip makeup from the outside to center of the lips.

A third image displays Park with fierce gray eyes and smoky makeup. She wears gray one-day FreshLook contact lenses, Shu Uemura Glow On Pink 30 blush, and Clinique ‘Chubby Stick’ Shadow Tint for Eyes - Massive Midnight. Begin by filling in a layer of black liquid eyeliner between the mucosa and thicken it towards the crow. Use the eyeliner under the eyes and connect to the line from the crows. Line the bottom lid with dark pearlescent gray eyeshadow and apply mascara in a zigzag pattern to add volume to the eyelashes. Use pastel peach blush and lightly sweep diagonally from the outside inward. Lastly, apply a fragile nude-toned lip gloss.

The fourth and final image features Park wearing khaki lenses and bronze makeup. Park is seen with Pure Hazel one-day FreshLook lenses, Shiseido Majorlica Majorca Puff de Cheek – OR302 blush, and Dior ‘Diorshow Mono’ Eyeshadow. Use brown eyeshadow below the eye and proceed to adding a little shade to the eyebrows. Use a black eyeliner pencil to create a line between the mucosa and the crow and fill in the crow. Draw a thin line on the lower eyelid. Apply mascara from the root of the eyelashes in a zigzag pattern. Then wait until it dries before applying more coats. Use orange blush and sweep diagonally from the outside inward. Apply a light lipstick tone or lip balm to complete the look.
