Unfortunately, SBS’s Inkigayo won’t be bringing us its great performances this week. Due to the tragic Asiana Airlines crash in Los Angeles, SBS made a last minute decision to cancel the weekly music show.
A representative of SBS stated, “A report on the plane crash is set to air in the ‘Inkigayo’ time slot. Following the plane crash, we feel that the upbeat atmosphere of the music show does not match with the public sentiment so we decided to cancel it.”
2NE1, who was supposed to have their first comeback stage during this episode, will now be holding their comeback on next week’s M!Countdown. A-Pink, MYNAME, and Dynamic Duo’s comeback stages will also be pushed back until next week’s episode, which seems more than reasonable given the gravity of the situation. We wish the best to the crash victims and their families.
