CL Is One of 2013′s Rising Female Rappers

The Baddest Female of KPOP is poised to be the Baddest Female of Hip Hop.

FUSE has included 2NE1‘s CL, MFBTY‘s Yoon Mirae, and Awkwafina on their list of Women in Hip Hop: 2013 Rising Female Rappers. CL is noted for having received one million YouTube views for her solo MV, The Baddest Female, in a 24-hour period. Her proven ability to comprehensively rap in both English and Korean are noted. FUSE notes that CL is proficient with hip hop networking, as evidenced by her social media photos with artists like A$AP Rocky and Snoop Dogg.

Yoon Mirae is noted for her accomplishment of helping to usher in hip hop during the late 1990′s to the Korean pop music scene. Artists like Yoon Mirae established a sound that made it possible for CL and 2NE1 to thrive as female hip hop/KPOP artists. Yoon Mirae has an upcoming collaboration with R&B sensation Amerie and most recently created the Korean hip hop power group MFBTY.

The actual newcomer amongst the group is New York’s own, Awkwafina. The Queens, New Yorker provides a unique perspective to hip hop, as one of the few Asian American women in the scene. Her rhymes are very thought provoking and have helped her gain the attention of members of the male dominated K-Hip Hop scene. Dumbfoundead provided a cameo in her video Mayor Bloomberg (Giant Margaritas), which is hysterical to anyone who is familiar with the proposed ban on sugar that was attempted by the embattled mayor.
