Idols aren’t safe on SNS or Facebook.
BIGBANG‘s Seungri announced on June 21st that his Facebook identity was stolen by an imposter who was most certainly impersonating the idol with acquaintances and fans.
Through a statement posted on Twitter, Seungri alerted fans and friends of the fact that he does not use Facebook:
I do not use Facebook. This ID is fake and this person is talking to my acquaintances and fans. Everyone please don’t get fooled by this person
This comes on the heels of a similar situation that occurred back in May, in which a fan had successfully impersonated 2NE1‘s Sandara Park on Instagram until the profile was removed.
Seungri also posted the Facebook profile for the imposter, including the link information. The following profile is not the actual profile of BIGBANG’s Seungri:
As Facebook moves towards a similar authentication process to Twitter, most artists are marked with a blue dot containing a white check mark next to their official accounts. This includes the official BIGBANG account, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, and BIGBANG’s Taeyang, as well as the YG Family account.
