YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun continues to reveal more details about forming WINNER, the first boy band the record label mogul has put together since launching Big Bang to superstardom seven years ago.

This time around, Yang will be selecting the band members based on the results of a TV reality show called “WIN Survival” (WIN stands for Who Is Next?), which will premiere simultaneously on two cable stations in South Korea– Mnet and tvN–on August 23.

“WIN Survival’ will have two teams: Group A consists of five members including the ex-contestant of ‘Superstar K2′ Kang Seung Yoon, and the ex-contestant of ‘K-Pop Star,’ Lee Seung Hoon,” the CEO explained in his daily blog on YG Entertainment’s website on Friday.

“The average age is 20 years old. Group B consists of six members with an average age of 17 years old, and among them is the then 12-year-old boy rapper B.I who was featured in MC Mong’s ‘Indian Boy’, and Koo Jun Hee, another ex-contestant of ‘K-Pop Star.’”

“Only one of these two groups will make a debut after the 10-episode show,” the mogul’s blog post added.

Yang also revealed that the song “Let’s Shake The World” by YG Entertainment artist G-Dragon would be used for the opening credits of “WIN Survival.”

The YG CEO says it will be the fans that decide who will be the members of WINNER.

“YG’s long-year trainees will be divided into Groups A and B for a real battle, and the result depends solely on the viewers, which is different to other audition programs,” Yang explained.

“The winning team will make a debut under the group name WINNER, and the losing one will face a break-up or have to wait indefinitely until they can become professional artists.”

After sharpening his skills for two years at YG’s famous trainee program, “WIN Survival” contestant, Kang released his first single “It Rains” in July.

Earlier this month, the singer, along with girl group 2NE1, became the first YG Entertainment artist to perform on the KBS television show “Music Bank” in three years.

Kang performed his new single “WILD AND YOUNG,” on the show with music by YG’s house producer Teddy and lyrics by Big Bang rapper G-Dragon.

His newest single “STEALER” was released this week.

Fans who can’t wait to see what “WIN Survival” is all about can tune into a sneak preview on Tuesday.
