As K-Pop idols become international superstars, many idols are showing off their English speaking skills in order to mingle with U.S. celebrities and expand the reach of their music.

While being a fluent English speaker is definitely not a requirement for K-Pop idols to be popular around the world, some of the biggest names and groups in the industry have English speakers who are able to connect with celebrities around the world.

A prime example is G-Dragon, who has achieved an astounding number of international collaborations with names like Flo Rida, Missy Elliott, and Sky Ferreira. No doubt his English speaking skills have helped him communicate with artists and collaborate with celebrity musicians.

Another YG idol group who has capitalized on their English skills is 2NE1. CL is notorious for her English skills, and you can hear the group as a whole speaking English in the following collaboration songs with will.i.am.

But not every member of a K-Pop idol group needs to have fluent English skills in order to benefit the group, and Girls' Generation is a prime example of that.

As K-Pop fans and Sones may know, Girls' Generation members Tiffany and Jessica are both born in the U.S. and fluent English speakers. This has helped the group during promotion activities in America and mingle with U.S. celebrities.

Just check out this interview between Tiffany and Brad Pitt!
