[News] 2NE1 CL Steals The Show By Proving She Really Is 'The Baddest Female' In K-Pop

Upon first watch, with the slow-rap rhythm and the portrayal of CL as a tough girl with some pretty serious sex appeal, one is reminded of Lil' Kim. We just hope that Lil' Kim does not start a fight with the 2NE1 frontwoman for "stealing her swag" a'la Nicki Minaj.

Or maybe we do? It might be interesting to see a call and response battle of new songs, and we definitely want to see more from CL after this one.

As expected, "The Baddest Female" incorporates a down paced hip-hop beat with a dubstep break, making it yet another versatile track from the YG hit-maker, Teddy.

The song itself is not particularly "radio-friendly" - it does not include pop elements or lyrics that make it fun to sing along to. In fact it is almost impossible to sing along with, more of a nod your head to the beat kind of song. Not to mention, the actual translation of the song's title and chorus is less "the baddest female" and more in line with "the baddest bitch."

But the single is more than just hip-hop swag. CL incorporates some less serious parts where she is seen appearing fun and playful showing off her moves on a light-up hopscotch dance floor and swinging in pigtails with a lollypop.

The song's bridge is full of electronica dubstep and is an all-English spoken shout-out to CL's fellow bad girls around the world. The rest of the song is a mash-up of heavy bass, squiggly electro, drum beats.

Her call to listeners to "do the Unnie (older sister)" practically begs us to Dougie to the song, enough said.

CL's fashion is the video is pretty fantastic. Throughout the various scenes she is seen in a variety of interesting outfits. At first decked out in track pants and gold chains (throwing in a grill for good measure) showing off her well-toned stomach, and then later moves into some more glamourous feminine pieces that accentuate her legs and S-line. And during the bridge, CL is seen atop a dark cliff in a get-up that looks like it is straight out of Lady Gaga's closet.

But it's not just CL's fashion that should be noted. Showing love and support for their YG comrade, many of the guys from the label make a cameo appearance toward the end of "The Baddest Female." They are dressed in pretty standard hip-hop garb - mostly black and with a lot of bandanas - except G-Dragon that is. Carrying a cane and wearing a top hat, G-Dragon looks like a carnival pimp. And did GD forget his pants in the dressing room?

Aside from G-Dragon's pants-less scene stealing for a brief second there at the end, "The Baddest Female" really is all about CL. Not sure how well the song will perform in the charts or how many copies it will sell, but that was never the intention to begin with. "The Baddest Female" is about giving CL the platform to express herself and show off her talents on her own - and she certainly shines.
